Hazelnut to be exact. I must admit, while I AM addicted to coffee, I’m not a fan of just coffee. It has to be iced, well the occasional hot latte, but even in winter I prefer iced. And yes it’s those “girly” drinks. Lots of milk, sometimes mochas. No black coffee for me. So perhaps I’m almost the reverse of a coffee snob? It seems like coffee snobs tend to be the ones who are very picky about certain roasts, flavours, blends, whatever. Me? Throw some coffee / espresso and a bunch of milk with some ice and maybe a syrup or chocolate in a cup and I’m happy.

That said, McDonalds iced hazelnut = Yummmy Yummy in my tummy. Yeah, I said it. I might even try the plain iced coffee next time I’m at a McDonalds. I’ll probably skip vanilla though.

Oh, did I say I’m NOT a coffee snob? I am I guess. I’ve found two flavours I don’t think work well in iced coffees = vanilla and honey. I’ve tried the vanilla ones at Starbucks and meh, they just don’t work for me. And also at Starbucks they had a honey latte I thought sounded interesting especially when I was getting over a cold, honey is good for sore throats right? Ohh, honey and iced coffees at least do NOT mix. Not sure about hot ones, but the iced experience was enough to make me not want to find out.

I am pretty sure that every regular employee at our local Starbucks knows my regular drink and Brian’s by heart and most know our names. We might be addicts, even though we only go on weekends usually. Though, I’m kind of evil, I through them for a loop at times and *gasp* dare to order something different where as Brian can pretty much only drink a venti latte with 2 sweet and lows or he might die.

I’m also thinking of redoing the coffee cup logo for this very page as I really did rush it and when my mommy person isn’t busy someday teaching her how to use her log in so she can post some coffee recipes… hmm…

Coffee coffee coffee. My Saturday chant. I pretty much live off of caffeine for two reasons
1. I have chronic headaches and it keeps them away and
2. I have MS, which means I have no energy and will do almost anything to keep my energy levels up.
Does it help? Sometimes, sometimes not. But hey, what if coffee isn’t enough? Energy drinks? Hmm. Nope, I like my iced coffffeeee too much. How about something new to supplement the coffee addiction while trying to keep the energy levels up? Whether blogging, drawing, visiting the local mall, or my rare trips to places like Disneyland, I need anything that I can find to keep my energy up up up! That’s why I’m hoping I’ll win the 12-pack of MAXXED Energy Pops, Xbox 360 Elite Bundle, and $100 gift certificate in the You Make my Energy Pop Contest! Yes, that will help me to keep going

Why a sucker err POP for energy?
* MAXXED Pops are infused with a unique blend of Ginseng, Guarana, Taurine & B-vitamins.
* MAXXED Pops have a unique flavor blend, with cream soda notes and hints of lemon lime, making it better tasting than the average energy drink.
* Maxxed pops come in a silver composite can with a pop top lid to keep the pops fresh.
* Maxxed cans allow for maximum portability and convenience.

And hey, coffee ISN’T always enough. Sometimes just keeping up with my blogs can wear me out. My friends lists, reading all of those passionate opinions, carefully thinking out replies, typing them all up, moving on to the next. It can indeed take something out of me. Imagine if I won this thing, a game system, eeek, I’d be tempted to play for hours and that’s wipe me out even more, I’d need those pops for sure, good thing they include them if you win. I guess they knew game addicts wouldn’t stop, and what better way to show off how good their product is that to test it on exactly the type of person who would become addicted to an energy product, a gamer! Smart company this one.

If you don’t have a blog of your own or can’t enter the contest for some reason (aka can’t embed the give me energy widget as I have in this post), they have a Keep Going Sweepstakes too!

While you’re here, click my energy meter Over —> there please! I could use it, writing this wore me out and I need those pops as this coffee off mine isn’t enough today!

So I found this really great website I want to tell you about and… Wait…. Why should I be writing about it for free? Isn’t my time worth something? Oh, what’s that? SocialSpark thinks it is anyway. What’s SocialSpark? It’s a way to connect with other bloggers and with find money making opportunities both. Wait… no… Not those usual cheesy money making opportunities promising you miracle riches like you’ve fallen for in the past. Nothing that will make you rich, nothing that requires you to join 50 other websites to make $5. Not THAT kind of money making opportunity.

This is different, it’s designed for bloggers. It works something like this:

Browse Opportunities

Find one that interests you and that you qualify for

Sign up for it

Get approved to take part

Post in your blog

Submit your post

Reap the rewards that the opportunity promised you!

YOU control what opportunities you take part in, if none interest you, check back, there are new ones being posted regularly. Some pay you, some offer you a link back (so that their site and yours both get some new traffic), and a few (like some charities) are just there to inspire you to write and to spread the word about good causes.

If you click on the screen shot for a full view, you’ll get a better idea of what I mean.

Like my *cough* beautiful hand drawn arrows pointing out the main features you need to know about? You’ll also notice (hey I ran out of room for more arrows) that there are different types of opportunities. Sponsored posts = what I’ve mainly been talking about here and are the main type of opportunities that you’ll find (aka a blog post, which you’ll be paid for). Blog Sponsorship = a pop up banner or banner ad that runs on your site for a set number of days and is paid out based on the number of days it ran. Sparks = non paying opportunities (like the link back posts I mentioned).

But hey those folks are SocialSpark aren’t sneaky nor are they pushy salesmen/women, they believe in honesty and they want YOU to be honest too. No one is going to read your blog if they think you’re full of it or hiding the fact that you’re being paid for a post. Notice the sponsored by banner at the bottom of this post? They require that! So SocialSpark expects you to be honest about your affiliation with them.

Still sponsored or not you should be posting REAL opinions. As these opportunities are ones that you CHOOSE to be a part of, you should be choosing because you want to write about them. This blog is about coffee, I’d not choose to take part in an opportunity about a website that sells life insurance. But I might take part in one about recipes if it had a really good coffee drink *grin*

Your membership is public, no one can accuse you of hiding that you’re affiliated with them. And it’s 100% search engine friendly!

You really can’t lose. A community that helps get your blog more traffic and makes you new friends. Ideas for blog posts. And opportunities to get paid for blog posts about things you’d blog about anyway.

Why are you still reading? Go sign up already.

Who out there has tried this? I keep hearing McDonalds coffees are good and cheaper than your average coffeehouse coffees. I almost only drink iced lattes and mochas myself with the occasional hot one (hey I live in California, I can drink iced year round). I don’t make it to McDonalds very often though, and sorry to the Starbucks haters but my local one has some great employees, knows our names and drinks by heart, and gives us discounts. Someday I’ll try McDonalds iced coffees, but if anyone out there has tried them and has an opinion, I’d love to hear it. I mean, is McDonalds now a real coffeehouse?
